Posting Instructions for CUEMBA.org

There are several areas where alumni and current students can post information on this site.  All postings are put into a pending status and published manually by the webmaster.   

  1. Job Postings - These are available to anyone who views the website.  Alumni who are logged in will be able to see the contact information of the alum who posted it.
  2. Alumni Discounts (Advertising) - Post a discount for your business.  People who use ad blocking technology will not be able to see this feature.  We recommend that you also list your business in the business section.
  3. Business Listings - List your business.
  4. Alumni Personal Announcements - Let everyone know what is going on.  Alumni who are logged in can see your posting.  The general public will just see your name and graduation year.
  5. Mentor / Business Services - List your professional services or search for some help with your business.

 

Job Postings

View job postings

Anyone who visits the site can view job postings.  Job postings are available from the link on the right side beneath the calendar.  Or from the menu item: Job Listings

Create new job posting

New job postings can be created by registered users.

The postings are created by clicking the menu item:  Post a job (available to signed in users)

Instructions for posting

Enter the following information:

 

Title: <Enter the position title>

Email: <leave blank>

Application Processing <select Enabled if you provide an email address for resumes, otherwise select Disabled>

Expires: <Select true if the position has a closing date, false if it is open until filled>

Application Deadline <Fill in if the application has a closing date>

Description: <Position Description – you can also include application instructions>

Location <Optional – fill in if applicable>

Employer

 

Enter Alumni Name and Contact information.  Only the alumni name is required.  This information is displayed to anyone who views the site.

 

Click Preview or Save

You do not need to adjust any other settings.

Editing / Removing

The administrator or person who created a job can delete it.

 



Alumni Discounts

Feature

Description

View

Anyone who visits the site can view the discounts.  Alumni Discounts are available from the link on the right side beneath the calendar.  Or from the menu item: Alumni Discounts.  If a person has an ad blocker on the browser, they will not be able to see the discounts.

Create

New listings  can be created by registered users.

The postings are created by clicking the menu item:  Advertise your business (available to signed in users).

Instructions for posting

Enter the following information:

Title: <This is a identifier for your advertisement and is displayed to the administrator of the system.>

Ad Groups: <select a group – Alumni owned businesses have priority>

Scroll down and look for the section on Ad Type

Select Text ad.

 

Destination URL <optional – add in a web link if applicable>

Ad Header <Enter the title for your advertisement>

Ad Body <Enter the description of your advertisement>

 

Click Save or Preview

 

All other settings are controlled by the administrator; you do not need to adjust them.

Editing / Removing

The administrator or person who created a job can delete it.

 



Business Listings

Description

View

Anyone who visits the site can view the business listings.  Business Listings  are available from the menu item: Alumni Business Listings

Create

New listings can be created by registered users.

The postings are created by clicking the menu item:  Create Business Listings (available to signed in users).

Instructions for posting

Enter the following information:

Title: <This is a identifier for your business and is displayed to the administrator of the system.>

Business Name <enter the name>

Category: <Optional – select your industry>

Phone <Optional>

Business Website <Optional>

Business Description <Optional>

Alumni <Enter your name>

Class Year <select your year>

Click Save or Preview

 

All other settings are controlled by the administrator; you do not need to adjust them.

The administrator or person who created a listing can delete it.

 

 



Personal Announcements

Description

View

Only registered users can view the personal announcements.  Personal announcements are available from the menu item: News from Alumni

Create

New announcements can be created by registered users.

The postings are created by clicking the menu item:  Alumni News Item (available to signed in users).

Instructions for posting

Enter the following information:

Title: <This is an identifier for your announcement and is displayed to the administrator of the system.>

Announcement <enter the announcement>

Alumni <Enter your name>

Class Year <select your year>

News Item <select the type of announcement>

Click Save or Preview

 

All other settings are controlled by the administrator; you do not need to adjust them.

Mentor List

View

Only registered users can view the mentor list.  The
Mentor
list is available from the menu item: Mentor List

Create

New listings can be created by registered users.

The postings are created by clicking the menu item:  Join the Mentor List (available to signed in users).

Instructions for posting

Enter the following information:

Service type: <This is an identifier for your announcement and is displayed to the administrator of the system.>

Alumni <Enter your name>

Email <Optional and this information is only displayed to alumni>

Phone <Optional and this information is only displayed to alumni>

Industry <Optional – select your industry>

Expertise <Optional – select your areas of expertise>

Click Save or Preview

 

All other settings are controlled by the administrator; you do not need to adjust them.
